If you want to head farther afield, Piper Shores provides transportation to nearby Portland, a lovely, walkable city bustling with activities, events, shopping, and nationally acclaimed restaurants. Of course, transportation to medical appointments, nearby supermarkets, and special events is provided, as well. As a life care retirement community, Piper Shores provides residents with the peace of mind knowing that lifecare combines all the advantages of independent living plus priority access to on-site assisted living and skilled nursing care if needed. Lifecare at Piper Shores also means that you will always have a predictable monthly payment for assisted living and nursing home care. Unlike other retirement communities in Maine, Piper Shores’ entrance fee for independent living apartments and cottages is ninety percent (90%) refundable to residents or to their estates. The Piper Shores lifecare retirement community offers a unique combination of services, onsite activities, and amenities that provide residents the opportunity to decide how they want to live. Residents choose between independent living cottages and apartments. Independent living residents choose whether to spend a relaxing afternoon in the library or garden or to play bocce on the oceanfront lawn, make furniture in the woodworking shop, plant flowers and vegetables in the community garden, go fishing, take a bike ride or play a few hands of bridge.
