Creekside

Creekside is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization owned and operated by MRC (Methodist Retirement Communities), which began in 1962 on Galveston Island, TX, and now serves some 2,000 residents in 11 (and growing) senior living communities in Texas, including Bryan, College Station, La Porte, League City, Lufkin and Texarkana, with a central office in The Woodlands. We’re honored to serve seniors of any nationality, race, gender, disability or religion — that is, you needn’t be United Methodist or Christian or religious in any way to stay with us. For over a half-century, our mission has been to serve seniors in a Christian environment. Since we’re a nonprofit, we’re able to reinvest all leftover margin in improvements and keep rate increases to a minimum. Nonprofit status brings with it, however, a higher level of accountability, which we take to mean a higher standard for services, programming, activities, housing and care. Creekside was and remains the only nonprofit senior community in the Huntsville area. As a staff, we’re committed to making and maintaining Creekside as the best senior living community in Walker County. We offer Catered Living for a simplified lifestyle, alongside Assisted Living, Skilled Nursing and Memory Support, with all levels supported by Rehabilitation. In 1985, we opened the Ella Smither Geriatric Center in Town Creek, which provided quality senior living to greater Huntsville for over a generation. In 2013, the redesign and complete renovation of Town Creek into Creekside marked an evolution in staffing into the ICARE program as well. Daily demonstration of an ICARE principle (integrity, compassion, accountability, respect and excellence) drives each of us to provide better service, each day.
