Arcadia is conveniently located on three beautiful acres in Makiki and has nearly 50 years of experience serving Hawaii’s seniors in an exceptional and vibrant community setting. Arcadia includes common areas to enjoy. Our rooftop Solarium features panoramic mountain, ocean and Diamond Head views and has a private dining room with a satellite kitchen for residents wishing to entertain on an intimate scale. Our Chapel, with its stained glass windows of waterfalls, is a quiet place for meditation and home to ecumenical services. It also doubles as an auditorium, meeting place, movie theatre, and a concert and entertainment venue. Because our residents include retired librarians, our library contains a wide selection of excellent literature that is both up-to-date and well managed. Founded by Central Union Church with a commitment for compassionate and gracious care, we encourage all of our residents to live life to the fullest. To move into Arcadia as a resident, you must be at least 62 years of age. You’ll need a physical examination (at your expense), as well as a geriatric functional assessment. Your residency in an independent living apartment must not adversely affect the health or safety of yourself or other residents, as solely determined by the Corporation. In addition, you must disclose and show that your financial assets and income, in the sole determination of the Corporation, are sufficient to pay the entrance fee and the future payment of monthly fees including, but not limited to, fees for assisted living and skilled nursing, as well as other personal expenses not provided for under your Residence Agreement. We are situated on three acres of beautifully manicured property on Punahou Street, an upscale, tree-lined avenue near Honolulu’s geographic center. Downtown Honolulu, Waikiki Beach, the University of Hawaii, Ala Moana Center and many other cultural, recreational and shopping facilities are just minutes away by public transportation or by car. Churches of all major denominations are within walking distance.
